United States 2008 LR2 i6 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
Thinking of buying a Caravan and......

I'm looking at purchasing a "pop-up" Camper (Coleman Westlake) that:
weighs (Dry)
979kg (2155lbs). with an unloaded tongue wt of 82kg (180lbs)
and is 12' long
Is anyone currently towing anything similar to this?

Also, how difficult is it to install an electric tow brake controller? I know that the FL2 does not like additional non-land rover wiring... if anyone has installed one, where and what type?

thanks!!

I think the pop up should be well within the towing capability of the FL2. Having lived over you side of the 'pond' (VA for 3 years) I know about electric trailer brakes, however here in the UK we don't have such systems; we do have brakes on trailers but they are operated by purely mechanical systems (they are quite effective if well maintained!). Hopefully one of our US contributors will be able to help you.

Pop up trailers are used over here, though our climate is a little less forgiving so they aren't as popular as full blown caravans (RV's though generally they are somewhat smaller than what you might be used to.

Just back to the brakes, I'm not sure if our Australian friends also use electric brakes so there maybe some help from there.
