Starting problems/missing on FL2 2009

Hi,

Can anyone help please? After having my engine rebuilt a few months ago I have been having starting problems ever since. I was told by the Cowboys (sorry, engine rebuilders) that they had replaced an injector because of this exact issue that when the car is started up it seems to misfire and emit blueish smoke and sounds quite lumpy somehow.

I have had a diagnostic check but that came back with it being the Throttle body! So, £450 later the garage replaced that but the very next day the car did exactly the same thing when it was started up, I was not very happy with this so I rang the garage and they had my car back in and they said they have re-programmed the injectors to the ECU and run another diagnostic check and they said that it seemed a lot better! but, guess what?? the next day the same bloody problem is back.... I really am at my wits end with this problem and no one seems to know what it is.... Please see video of my car starting up the other day, please press the FL2 start up text to take you to the video on my Flikr page.

FL2 Start up by Paul, on Flickr Kind regards.

Paul

SWMBO agreed when I ran the video for her. To be honest, I never heard my car start from anywhere but the driving seat so I had no idea!

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

Why was the engine rebuilt? And what exactly was supposed to be done to repair it?

Mine ran better than that with leaking valves, as I had to throw the old damaged head on mine, while I waited for a good second hand head to come up.

Unfortunately it seems you're being taken for a fool, by a bunch of cowboys. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.

So which engine did they refit, Massey Ferguson or Ford Rolling with laughter

Seriously though, as previously stated above, take it back & tell them to sort it, at their expense of course. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
