Trailer electrics

Hi Ive just fitted a towbar and Brink dedicated 13 pin wiring kit to my 2009 Freelander and nothing is working. Strangely when I plug into the module it stops my ignition working and then I have to disconnect the battery earth to get it back to normal. There is a continuous red light on the module which I believe indicates a malfunction. Anybody else had this problem? Could it purely be down to coding? Would appreciate any help

I did contact brink and got the following but I think the pins are as they should be? I also checked earth reading as they requested and that was normal

Please see the answer from the manufacturer below:
we do think we have a pinning problem in the trailer module conector causing the issue.

CAN high signal with about 2 volts needs to be in the black wire leading into pin 14 of the plug.
As a remedy, take the module off, start the ignition and check both black wires in pins 10 and 14. If 2 volts are
on pin 10, interchange with pin 14.

Thanks
Steve
