Hello all,
I have an 07 2.2 TD4 which I removed the inlet manifold on as it was leaking oily air past the rubber seals. While I was there I fitted new glow plugs and ditched the swirl flaps - pretty good timing too since one of the flaps fell out while removing the manifod!

I replaced the rubber manifold seals (gaskets) but it is still blowing oily air mix past the inlet manifold rubber seals and rustproofing my engine bay . Have any of you peeps had this and if so how did you solve it? I am used to working with proper paper or metal gaskets between metal parts so a rubber ring on a piece of plastic is all alien to me.

It's pretty standard for plastic manifolds to be sealed with elastomer O rings or gaskets.
They shouldn't leak if they are undamaged, and the manifold is bolted up to the correct torque.
Leaking suggests an issue with excessive boost pressure, or incorrect fitting procedure. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I have ordered new LR gaskets and will do it all again. At least its not a massive job.

Hi just wondering if replacing your gasket o rings solved your problem because I have exactly the same issue on my 07 Freelander 2. I also fitted a replacement inlet manifold after removing damaged swirl flaps and have had a minor oil leak from the base of the manifold ever since.
