Yes the value of a car would also affect how much budget for spares etc, generally older cars would get pattern parts. |

As long as it looks good on the day, drives well and you have evidence of servicing then that is all that really matters.

My Jag x type is a Ford Mondeo underneath. Would I pay jag prices for spares?

There's nothing wrong with using OE parts, but to spend 3 or times as much for the same part in an LR box isn't saving money, it's simply propping up the finances of a huge company, who is clearly quite happy to fleece it's brand loyal customers. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Yes this is a good price. What I have noted is that in the Gates kit they supply a new crankshaft bolt. My query with this is that there are supposedly 2 different bolts available ref VIN number so how to Gates know which you need? obviously they do not. Would be interesting to know who made the original fitted belts. |

Once a year i service the freelander (or will do) and to buy genuine filters at £58 for b service is no brainer. That works out about £5 per month to keep vehicle in good condition plus oil.

Genuine parts on an EV what parts? Mine is about to roll 90k miles and it's not had any service parts Brake fluid still checks out OK pollen filter changed out ( not sure if Genuine or not) Brakes are still original just been striped down and cleaned /lubed Even the tyres last longer than any other car I have ever owned |
