Anyone fitted spacers to their FL2? I'm thinking of throwing some ATs on 245/60R18 and wouldn't mind some spacers purely for the looks but want to know if anyone will advise strongly against it or has had any bad experiences?

Personaly I would not fit spacers as they can put extra strain on wheel bearings and will put your insurance up, 2013 FL2 XS.

I ran hub centric aluminum custom models in 3/16" on a previous vehicle without any additional wear and tear but in Canada, that does not cause insurance issues. The UK has a ton of rules and restrictions compared to God's Country

Look out for some Evoque 18" rims instead? They have an extra 10mm of offset, fills the arches nicely with a 255/60/R18 AT tyre

Curiosity question as I am thinking along the lines of improving my ground clearance through tire height through during winter. Do you think you could have gone to a 255/65R18 without issue? Or a 245/65R18 for curiosity sake? What the current rim offset for your stock year class?

A 245/70r17 fits so a 245/65r18 will fit. A 245 will fit in the wheel well without raising the floor. You will probably have issues in the boot with the diameter of a 255/65r18 probably not worth the inconvenience for an extra 7.5mm radius on the road.

Using the search facility is all well and good, but you will then miss any new information about software updates, upgraded parts, receive info on discontinued products and recommendations for out of business suppliers.

Some threads become very unwieldy to find the specific info you might be looking for also. Lightwater's photo-heavy threads also come to mind - they take forever to load.

If you object to someone asking a question simply don't bother answering or telling them they are lazy.

I run (as I'm sure most of you already know by now and thus are bored to tears of hearing it ) 265/60/18's on Evoque rims. Coupled with a 40mm/50mm lift and 25mm hubcentric spacers. I've run this set-up for 3 years now (tyres 2 1/2 years) with no adverse problems so far.
I ran all my Freelander 1 with 30mm hubcentric spacers before that. Between 4 and 7 years without problems , either.
As long as you don't go silly with the width and they're torqued up correctly, and they're from a reputable manufacturer, there shouldn't be any real problems. 25mm is, however, the widest I'd go on the Freelander 2 personally with the width of tyres and the offest of the Evoque rims. I certainly would not go any bigger on any of these components either.
