which odb2 tool should i get please?

I would like to be able to enable features like the auto-dipping external mirrors, or the reversing camera which i would need to buy and install.

I would also like to be able to program a new key fob if possible.

I have no shortage of laptops and tablets lying around.

The car is a 2013 Dynamic.

An IID will programme new or replacement modules, but I'm not sure about keys. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

Pretty sure the GAP will do keys as well. but, man it's expensive in my book. A mongoose clone and JLR SDD v130 works for me.

It of interest how much does a mongoose clone and JLR SDD cost? And what does it do that Autel ap200 maxi can't?

Thanks

I used the mongoose clone and program to detect and enable my tow bar when i had my 2007 Freelander.
There is an element of risk using these tools as you can write to the modules.
I used mine quite a bit for diagnostics and had a designated laptop using XP instead in preference to the virtual machine.

I now have an Evoque and some time ago decided on the Gap tool (BT) and find this useful.

Joe Fix it until it's broke !

I also use a mongoose and SDD130. I have only done pretty basic stuff with it, but it will do everything on your list as you would expect from dealer level software.
I also have an x type and an xkr. Being Jaguar / Land Rover SDD and the mongoose work fine with these cars too. Cost me around £45 for the cable and software some years ago. I have an old laptop dedicated to the job running xp, with the internet access permanently disabled and the date set back to around 2011 if my memory serves me correctly.

Just got my GOLO Launch x431 with xdiag, all car brands. You can get them from many sellers on mhhauto. Not the cheapest one - around 300 EUR, but it can do pretty much anything. Live data reading, online coding, DTC reading, clearing, fob coding, dpf regeneration, abs bleeding, etc etc.... almost everything. Highly recommend.

So if I bought a cable for circa £50 and used an old laptop or a VM running XP, then I could use the land rover SDD tool?

What would that give me over the Autel? I've got a 2010 Td4_e XS, we've also got a 2001 and 1999 disco 2 in the family of it would do anything with these?

I've found the Autel to be very good but just wondering if I'm missing out on anything else!?

I don't know anything about the autel, so can't help you there. Yes that setup will work. You need an old version of SDD ( v130) works for me. The forerunner to SDD was IDS. Iirc, SDD will switch to IDS if the car is too old for SDD. There is plenty of info on the web. I found the x type owners forum very helpful when I was setting my laptop up some years ago.
Make sure that you understand what you are doing with the software. I have not delved too deeply. Modules can be bricked. Always have an external power supply to the car battery when using SDD. Some processes are long winded and can run the battery down. Some processes not be initiated if the vehicle battery charge is too low.

Where is everyone getting the mongoose from?
I seem to remember them previously being on ebay etc. but now only see them on pretty sketchy looking sites, can anyone recommend a seller they've recently bought from?
