Replacement Key Fob.

Just seen a vid by Powerfuluk regarding replacement key fob. They purchased a blank 433mhz fob from eBay £16.97, and successfully programmed it using an Autel AP2000 diagnostic tool (approx £47).
This is a cheap scanner that does communicate with Landrover.
In with the purchase you get one free manufacturers for life, additional manufacturers l think are £27 per year.
I have had one for sometime for Landrover and Renault but haven't had the courage to try the key programmer function. Code reading though is very good. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

I watched that the other day, very interesting, BUT, what struck me was if I did that, I would need to buy a more modern phone as most apps will not work on mine.

Concluded, just as easy to get a refurb for £28:49 !! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154392994423

I got one done via ebay in 2017, it was about £20. . .still works great and looks brand new 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

Yes, the autel will work with aftermarket keys but the software communication is wonky. Worked for me, after some confusion.

Question? Did it require you to program and reprogram all the keys or just the new key? I have not tried it yet but I believe that JLR SDD requires all keys at the time of introducing a new key module, that all keys be re-married.

Both my original keys are reconditioned by me so no need to try it. I do have a bland siting in a drawer just in case I had pooched the recondition.

It required all keys be programmed. The process is initiated with one of the existing keys.
