Just seen a vid by Powerfuluk regarding replacement key fob. They purchased a blank 433mhz fob from eBay £16.97, and successfully programmed it using an Autel AP2000 diagnostic tool (approx £47).

I watched that the other day, very interesting, BUT, what struck me was if I did that, I would need to buy a more modern phone as most apps will not work on mine.

Yes, the autel will work with aftermarket keys but the software communication is wonky. Worked for me, after some confusion.

Question? Did it require you to program and reprogram all the keys or just the new key? I have not tried it yet but I believe that JLR SDD requires all keys at the time of introducing a new key module, that all keys be re-married.

It required all keys be programmed. The process is initiated with one of the existing keys. |
