I'm hoping that all EV prices fall. The manufacturing costs with volume are lower than an equivalent ICE, so once all manufacturers are up to speed, and have the supply chain issues sorted, we should see the prices start to fall. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

They may fall in real terms I.E they increase at a slower pace, but with the present financial situation in especially Europe a actual drop, no my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Tesla are pushing prices down hard as their business model seems to be "build them at scale, build them at pace, but for goodness sake build them" followed by "er, we seem to have a lot of unsold inventory"

It's forcing the hand of other manufacturers, particularly in the US. We'll see how that flows through. Current driveway contents:

Just read in daily express that there is a new potential tax on EVs of 6 pence per mile plus VAT!

If the government are going to put a milage tax on EVs, they would have to put it on ICE vehicles too. I'm all for paying by the mile, but it needs to be a fair system across the board, not just levied against one type of vehicle. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Interesting article by Car Enthusiast Rowan Atkinson with a message at the end that sums up how I feel.

I tend to say that if their car is an old diesel and they do a lot of city centre motoring, they should consider a change. But otherwise, hold fire for now. Electric propulsion will be of real, global environmental benefit one day, but that day has yet to dawn.

They have just started to confirm delivery dates for later this month for the launch edition "One". Production moves to "Extreme" spec orders next, then "Ultra". It's moved back about 6 months from the original timeline due to delays in getting approval from EPA in the US - Fisker wanted to ensure they could launch Europe and US together, which makes sense.

I *could* up the order to an extreme and likely get it Q3 this year, or stick with the plan for an Ultra and it will be Q4 this year or early Q1 next.

However..... nothing is concrete until they confirm leasing figures (I'm getting it through my business) and I've seen a couple of real world reviews Current driveway contents:

On BBC news last week there was a removals business owner moaning about the ULEZ in Manchester and how much he was going to have to pay as a daily rate. He was driving around in a 19 year old van (04 plate)!
I wouldn't want that driving in my city even if there was no ULEZ. Jules

To be fair a removal lorry does not do much driving it’s sat still for most of the day loading or unloading.

OK fair enough - but old smokey diesels do no favours for those of us with more modern, cleaner diesel engines hoping to keep them for as long as possible. Smile Jules

Do we know it was smoking ? I know someone who runs an old erf still and that doesn’t smoke and is immaculate and very well maintained, so might be the removal lorry.

I know people who run old trucks and they all smoke like an 80s soap character.
