Further to my other post about rodent-damaged wiring, I thought it would help to start a new topic for this specific issue. My 2008 six cylinder Freelander 2 is throwing up an intermittent error on the driver's side second row peripheral acceleration sensor (code B1196-87).

Great, good to know why the dashboard light is on (!) but where on earth do I find this sensor? Presumably it must be close to the edge of the car? Does anybody know, or can anyone point me to someone who would? The internet has failed to provide much information (there is a Russian site but I can't seem to translate that one). Thanks in advance.

Looking at the wiring diagram, it is T396 & associated wiring you are looking for. A quick search hasn’t brought anything up that clearly shows it’s location. I’ll be surprised if it isn’t shown in the workshop manual though.I just don’t have time to go through it at the moment.
