Further to my other post about rodent-damaged wiring, I thought it would help to start a new topic for this specific issue. My 2008 six cylinder Freelander 2 is throwing up an intermittent error on the driver's side second row peripheral acceleration sensor (code B1196-87).

Looking at the wiring diagram, it is T396 & associated wiring you are looking for. A quick search hasn’t brought anything up that clearly shows it’s location. I’ll be surprised if it isn’t shown in the workshop manual though.I just don’t have time to go through it at the moment.

Nice one Lightwater, of course it’s the one on the r/h side he needs to check out. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
