2009 GS speakers and upgrade

Hi all,
I have a 2009 GS and while I love the car the previous owner obviously loved bass a little too much, this has resulted in speakers being muddy and actually not being useable.
I want to upgrade the speakers in the door but I don't know what the best options are? Also the GS doesn't have an amp so I am assuming I am reliant on the inbuilt head unit amp. Is it possible to retrofit an alpine /HSE unit amp and speakers to the car? I'm reluctant to replace the headunit and lose my cubby hole with an Android system, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Always a good idea to use the search option first & perhaps introduce yourself to other members.

Thumbs Up lot of newbies who just seem to sign up to ask questions, no intro or greeting.
