Help to ID cables behind glove box

Hi all. New to the Freelander world and have been working hard on mine to get it up to scratch. One of the minor jobs was finding the missing cable for the passenger foot well light which I managed to but in doing so I found a couple of black cables with in line fuses cable tied above the fuse box.

One of them didn't have a fuse in and after putting one in the car wouldn't start but was fine after taking it out so not entirely sure what they do. Been through photos on google but can't find anything similar.

Has anyone else come across these or is this wiring put in by a previous owner? Will get a photo up shortly Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone

There are only 3 fuse boxes in the car, engine bay, passenger footwell & boot. Anything else is rubbish the previous owner/s has put in.

If you can trace it to both ends, tidy up & get rid of it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Have you got some type of aftermarket 'engine disabling' security feature? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)

(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)
