Almost stalls when trying to pull away..

My 2013 auto has developed an intermittent problem recently. When trying to pull away (when uphill) it almost stalls, coughs and splutters, just for a few seconds, then suddenly comes to life.
I noticed also whilst cruising along last week I tried to accelerate and coughed a bit for a few seconds.
It's almost like it's starved of fuel .
Well aware of the 'hesitation' issue but this doesn't seem typical does it?
Tried Redex in fuel to no avail. Not noticed any warning lights at all.
No rough idle so I think that excludes EGR issues?
Bit worried as I'm going on hols in a couple of weeks!
Any ideas?

Thank you in advance,

When was fuel filter last changed?
If recently, was it a genuine one or OEM? Andy

It's a bloody good question Andy, as I inherited this car from my late father a few months ago. It's been serviced by an indy but records aren't clear exactly what's been done. So thanks, that sounds a good place to start. Sounds like making sure genuine LR product the way to go..
Cheers,
Rob

Just thought I'd come back to this thread to inform what's happened, in case it helps anyone else with the same symptoms:-

So it seemed to be happening more and more although still very much intermittent - took it to a mechanic relative who put his diagnostics on it and the only fault showing was a brake light switch. He said these often have a circuit which control fuel flow when brake applied, rather than just control the lights. He also said he didn't know if it's an old code not cleared off, but as it's a cheap part we'll replace it anyway.

Also whilst he had it, he put a new fuel filter on, as we've no idea when it had been changed last. He also put some 'purge' fluid through the lines or something..bit like Redex but straight to the spot rather than diluted in fuel.

Anyway long story short...the car hasn't faulted since so it seems solved. Whether it was the brake switch or fuel filter I don't know! Only downside was that I asked for a genuine LR fuel filter as I've seen advised on here but he insisted on using a 'Mann' filter. Anyway the car seems fine now and has been for 3 weeks, and pulls like a train which more urgency!

All the best,
Rob
