looks like that would be good to watch (i couldnt afford to drive one Laughing ) wonder if it will be televised. Im assuming JLR have completed their 'merger' with Bowler now ?

i remember watching a blue Discovery 1 and a blue Freelander 1 ragging round a rally stage at Sherwood Pines a few years back. Was incredible to watch a Disco power sliding round corners and it was a V8 Very Happy . I think the FL1 was a 2.5 V6 which also sounded amazing

Will they be racing on similar tracks /surfaces as WRC cars or will it be proper off-roading with steep ascents and descents?
To my mind if you're just going around a rally stage, you might as well just use a rally car and not a heavy 4x4.
Maybe something more akin to the Olympic MTB course but with 0.5 m deep fords etc Jules

That blue V6 Freelander was my old one I had built around 2006.

First mod was the genuine M-Sport raised air intake, Mantec sump and exhaust guards.

Then a 2003 facelift, 2" suspension lift and larger tyres. Bespoke roll cage and graphics.

Then a more "rally" look.

AC/DC's lead singer, Brian Johnson.

Walters Arena (I think) with the Race2Recovery team

14 minutes of pure racing pleasure - WITH SOUND !!!
Ruined by stupid music at the 5.50 mark. Typical.

ive just been searching for some photos of the disco and FL but cant find them. It was probably around 2009 ish that i watched them.

pretty sure there was/is a thread on here about the 6 genuine M Sport Freelanders and what happened to them after the Ford WRC event team got rid of them
