Ive recently noticed a leak coming from what I believe is the Haldex unit on my 2007 SE Td4 .
Does anyone have any indy recommendations as to where I can get it serviced near to Stockton on Tees preferably ??
Also does anyone know a rough guide price for the service nowadays?

North Eastern 4x4 will do a good job 01642 606001, you will probably have to wait a month or so though for them to fit you in.

Likewise for Durham 4x4 who are a little further away.

Are you able to determine exactly where the leak is? Haldex fluid is thin, almost like brake fluid and will be mostly clear or grey in colour if it's older, while diff oil is thicker, golden in colour and has a distinct smell.

The reason for asking is that there is a risk that the double seal between the diff and haldex could be leaking. This normally drains through a small hole in the bottom of the diff housing and then the leaking diff oil or haldex fluid tends to drip from the aluminium cross member, which in itself is not a massive issue. But if even the smallest amount diff oil manages to find its way into the Haldex it can do a lot of damage to the Haldex. If you experience any thuds or bangs through the transmission this would be one of the symptoms of diff oil in the Haldex.

I think its definately haldex oil because its thin , I cant see exactly where its coming from but the pump (i think) was coated in it.

I would be surprised if its coming from that end of the haldex as everything is sealed with O rings. While a leaking O ring isn't impossible, it is unusual. I have a leaking pinon seal and thats leading to drips forming on the Haldex motor.
