Couple of times this week my 2007 manual has started and run for maybe 10 seconds at most and stopped, the dash claims i have a Terrain control fault.
The second morning it happened, i tried a reset with the battery leads and put the jump pack on when i tried after the reset to rule out a poor battery, but still the same. 10 minutes later i tried it and it started and run great.

Today i plugged in the OBD reader, in the terrain menu it claims i had a loss of signal to the ABS module.

Anyone had this or got any ideas where i need to look next.

All manner of faults can be thrown by a poor battery and that is one of them. Have your battery checked or try a known good one.  Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.

It can be as simple as a battery with a low charge through lack of use, lots of short journeys or old age. Get the battery checked and if it is capable of holding charge, charge it using a decent charger, something made by ctek should do it.
The abs pump is a crucial part of the terrain control system. It needs pressure, produced from an electric pump to work. If the battery isn’t charged sufficiently when you insert the key and press the start button to start the motor you’ll get the terrain control fault. Once the motor is running and the alternator is charging the battery special programs will be available again.

The Car started fine and then stopped, that's when it started to play up. I done a reset and then put the jump pack on to make sure the battery had enough voltage. Extra earth lead has been done.
Done a drop test on my battery and its fine, strange thing is, everyone has said the same, poor voltage.

The FL2 is well known for giving random faults during (but not only) cold spells on anything less than a perfect battery.

Trying a new battery is by way the first and cheapest way to start.
