When looking at floor mats on Rimmer's website ( https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID018580 ) I noted that they refer to, for example, 'model up to CH321214’ or 'from BH220687 up to CH321214’ . Presumably the numbers refer to the last six digits of the VIN but to what do the letter prefixes relate? |

I think B = 2011, H = Halewood.

When I look again at the explanation IanMetro linked to, the B or C are Diesel and Diesel with DPF, but these letters are separated from the H for Halewood by two digits. But the first of these is a check digit, and the second is year of production so i suppose it’s sufficient for all practical purposes to simply use C or B, followed by H (which applies to all U.K. cars presumably) followed by the six digit chassis number.
