There is a similar electrical 'whine' from mine for a few minutes after switching off. It shuts down after several minutes when the car goes into 'sleep mode'. Shouldn't affect your battery. How old is the battery BTW? Might just be time for replacement, these are power hungry cars and a weak battery tends to show up lots of electrical gremlins. Lots of info on this! Put "Throttle body whine"in the search box and you will find loads of threads discussing your problem! Good luck! |

Oddly enough the i6 has a similar sound after shutdown. Been doing it as long as I can recall, and never hurt the battery. |

not sure if this is throttle body issue, it happens even when you just unlock the car and do not start the ignition. Unless the throttle body is activated on unlock? trying to find answers is proving difficult as so far just many opinions! might need to go back to the garage.....grrrr |

What you are now saying is different from your original post and is not something that I think has been covered on here before. The garage is probably your best bet unless you can do some detective work and are able to pin down the source of the whining noise! Good luck! |

Ok just to clarify the whine is present when the car stops after driving or after you simply unlock the car after several hours of inactivity.

Merlin, I don’t think that the UK LR2 has the leak detection pump But I do have this feature on my LR2 and it does make a sound as you described Take care Paul |
