2014 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Firenze Red
Rust on Towbar

When i took delivery of My 07 XS i had the dealer fit
an Approved Landrover Towbar with twin Electrics

I have noticed that the mounts around the Electric Sockets are very very rusty
I mean the Paint has peeled off etc

Would i be covered under any kind of Warranty with the Towbar with the Dealer ??
If needed i will post a picture Freelander TD4 XS Zermatt Silver Sept 07. twin elec. LR tow bar, mudflaps.

official LR accessories get 3 year warranty if fitted when car is new or in the first few months of its life. So yes try a claim. I suspect dealer will wriggle out of it - wrong kind of salt type of excuse.
Remove tow bar before the rust infests the whole car Shocked At work

Mine were changed last week when it went in for a service. Just mentioned it to them and they changed both brackets holding the 12N and 12S sockets on. Like you these were fitted to the car by the dealer when the car was new. The dealer was Conwy Land Rover.
You should have no problem getting them changed.

One of the used cars I was looking at here had that too. It was a year old and only had 15,000km or so. The seller said that it was very common here and not something that was preventable. But he was trying to sell me a car so....

Mine is in a similar state. The first mounting panel was changed at the two year service, and now the replacement is even worse. Shocked
The paint finish is totally unacceptable for an item that is located amongst all the road-spray! I will be requesting a new one before my warranty has expired.
