If I lose my remote control..

What do I do if I lose my "remote control" ( Big Cry ) (on vacation) and the other "remote control" is locked in the car, or are forgotten at home. ( Embarassed )
Can a random LR workshop (eg. Abroad) get a backup with the help of their database? LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq . Sorry, but I have changed to Defender 90 ", and I love my" tractor ".

If you left your cellphone in the car you'd basicaly be f*cked. Then you can't even call LR Assist. Mr. Green

By the way, it's probalby a good tip to have LR Assist's phone nbrs in your phone or put the sticker on your car.

as with most breakdown companies they have ways to access the cars

Though when i tried my access key, because the car was deadlocked it wouldn't work, dealer said this was normal Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

never bothered trying it sice the dealer said it was normal

i take both keys when we go on holiday, so the wife has one in her handbag, if i loose mine, we can still get in, and we never have both sets in one place whilst away

if it wasn't raining i would go out and see if it works whilst deadlocked Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

the only way i can think of, is by unlocking the car via the boot release button on the keyfob, as it locks as soon as you close the boot Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

That thought has occurred to me, which is why I always double check the key is in my hand when I close the boot!

I wonder how many times LRA have been called out because of this?

It is important for me to get a hint on what to do.
I travel alone, spare key will be in my bag (or at home Crying or Very sad ) locked in the car. My master key is lost, stolen or Confused , so I will contact the nearest LR workshop ( if I can find one ) to get help.
My question is really as follows: What can they do? LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq . Production Date: 11/5-2007 in Halewood.

My car closes automatically when the key is out of the ignition and the car after 2 minutes.

I can think of a situation where one opens the car and the then the back. Put the keys in the boot to pick up something to put in there. close the boot and forget fo 2 minutes the key is still in the boot. Car locks up automatically and you're scr Censored wed.

On the other hand knowing this I'd probably put it in my pocket instead of the boot as I used to always do.

if your away from home
they'll tow you to the place where you know you have a spare key (either just you or you and the car dependant on distance)

If both keys are in your car
They have ways of opening it, which would not be broadcasted on a public forum

If both Keys have been stolen
They'll treat your car as if its been in a accident, and secure it in a compound, you will have to pay for the locks to be changed and claim it back on your insurance IF covered Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

So when I'm on vacation in Italy they'll drive me back and forth to Belgium. Nice to know.
So if I forgot something I'll just lock in my key then. Laughing
