This latch release is a very good idea. I will do it as well.

I'm sure StuartC will be along soon with an electronic gizmo to enable unlocking from the dash. Dave DAVE. |

Three_Lander_Two, The ad says that its a Diesel (we didn't get the diesel) Nevertheless it is a good point, instead of getting out the drill a new latch could be purchased that has the release built in. If I had found this picture I would have used it instead of the Volvo picture. Thanks for pointing this out it is a good plan for anyone that doesn't want to do the modification. I think that you missed modification #7 7. Black-out fog light trim Clearly not my FREEL2 Thanks for sharing Paul Here is mine

Alex, The actual question that should be asked is: When am I going to add a magnet to the power-steering system? or the HALDEX? I don't have an answer.....but I'm thinking about it. Thanks Paul PS I changed the fluid and filter on my son's AISIN 6 speed automatic (VW) and the magnets were covered at 50,000 miles. I cleaned the magnets and I added more. |

I thought you would be interested in this modification. My Daughter is taking the LR2 down to her University and I didn't want her to be that far away from home without me making the modification. For reference it as if we live in Brisbane and the University is in Sydney. She isn't going somewhere remote like Alaska for example. But it still needed to be done because I won't be there to fix any problem that she may encounter (in fact I am preparing a complete kit of spare parts to hide in the Boot just in case) Based on your posts I am reasonably certain that you are traveling to places significantly more remote than Sydney or Brisbane. Take Care Paul |

The "road service" I provide from remote areas to our own local street is jump starting & flat tyres.
