Shame

Hope you enjoy the new car, it's very different to the FL2, not in a necessarily bad way just different.
The 2.2 engine is the wise choice unless you are going for a car that is built 2018 or later. Manual gearbox definitely - ours had the 2.2 and the autobox and was a complete and utter disaster from start to finish, friends with the manual absolutely loved theirs and were very sad when the company changed it for a Suzuki.

Come on what model year colour, there are some of us here waiting to take the Censored Very Happy Very Happy

Good luck and keep up the visits - just for the banter Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

as you may well know andy all the later evoques some late 2015 onwards have
the 2ltr engine with the worrying timing chain so thats a no no for me therefore
i searched for one of the last evoques with the good old 2.2 with a belt and found
a 2014 one owner 54k on the clock grey metalic with full black leather black pack
pan roof, side steps mud flaps rear tints all fitted when new including led upgrade
fogs ect,and grey dynamic 19" wheels including a spare. was searching before then
for a discovery sport but they all have timing chains so struck them off my list,
not saying chains are not reliable but as i do all my own maintenance removing
the gearbox to do a chain put me off just thinking about it.
plus belt driven diesels run smoother.
oh and yes the evoque autos are not that good making their mind up which gear
to go in so i have been told but i would not have even thought about getting a auto
anyway = might get a auto when im old and lazy lol

i will ad some photos soonish.

I will probably get shot down for saying this but I had 3 FL1s with timing chains and a variety of other cars and never had a timing chain problem or even had to change one. Now cambelts are another thing..... 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

Timing chains don't generally fail.
However the JLR 2.0 diesel seems to have problems with oil dilution, with will effect the whole engine, causing unusual wear in unusual places. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Yes the ignium has the timing chain at the gearbox end - so either engine or gearbox out.

Timing chain stretched on the wife's Micra at 15,000 miles - just over 3 years so out of warranty, gearbox out to get the sump off to take out the oil pump to access the timing chain, in January, in the snow in the street Censored

Ignium pre-2018 did suffer from oil dilution (our 2016 certainly did) but I changed the oil every 10k rather than 21k to prevent premature engine wear. Our 2019 model certainly doesn't raise the oil level between (10k) services so not an issue. Are you going to keep the car past 150k? if so timing chain might be a consideration.

The early DS had the 2.2 engine, so could have been a contender, but they attract a premium because FL2 drivers wanting to move on prefer this engine. - can't think why, good economy, bomb proof, easy to service.

What do you mean autos are only for old men!! your only as old as the woman (or chap) you date Mr. Green

Sound like a nice Spec, photos would be good.

Now a DS with the 2Ltr diesel engine and 239BHP is really the way to go, trust me, puts a smile on your face every day. Just towed a laden Transit van three miles, you couldn't even tell it was on the back. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Didn't you go for the Dynamic Fl2 you were looking at ? We've been very happy with the 2.2 DS and plan on keeping it for a good few years. Hope you enjoy your Evoque.

yes bxzx16v i did and

i posted this after the last bank holiday

bought a dynamic from Bristol street motors
Which ticked all the boxes until i found some masking tape under the rubber seal on the tail gate
And after a bit more digging found it had been repaired after a shunt which was not recorded and
Must admit it was very well done but i was not happy after paying 15k for a car that was advertised
one careful Owner 48000 miles 63 plate then find out its hidden secrets. Anyway took it back and
got all my money back and I’m not sure if they knew or not as no one come up with a straight answer

After our FL2 ownership we moved 'up' to an Evoque. We had a Dynamic Lux and we kept it for over 5 years which was a record for us. Only changed it when our needs changed as it was basically being used as a dog carrier! I did prefer the Evoque compared to the FL2 although I did miss, for a while, the seat armrest and the sunroof. It was a great car in sport/dynamic mode for the twisty lanes though! Whistle

https://www.evoqueownersclub.co.uk/forums/ Is a pretty good site for Evoque owners. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Similar experience with my current car, within days of getting the car the boys bought me personalised plates, so took off the existing to find that the rear door had obviously been resprayed - rear end shunt?. Valeter pointed out that the drivers door has had a respray, which does explain the rattle from broken glass trapped inside. Dealer denied all knowledge - still does. This is on a car I have paid £40k for, checked that it's not written off, but then again you would have to do a lot of damage to a car that was less than 12 months old and new cost in the region of £50k.
Was I Censored off, yes, did I ever think of taking her back - you must be joking, it's the nicest car that I have ever driven. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
