damaged crankshaft sensor

Greetings to the whole community
Rereading the posts that have been published to date regarding the crankshaft sensor, I would like to ask the group some things that are not clear to me:
1. the crankshaft sensor is the one positioned near the crankshaft transmission pulley;
2. crankshaft sensor malfunction can prevent the vehicle from starting and generates DTC 335 and 336;
3. to replace the crankshaft sensor, is it necessary to remove the timing belt or can the CKP sensor be replaced without removing the timing belt?
4. in case of replacement of the CKP sensor, is it necessary to align it with the crankshaft pulley or is it replaced simply by removing the damaged sensor and installing the new one?
5. Does the CKP sensor need to be replaced with an original Land Rover or is a non-original sensor also okay?

Answers all your questions .
The cabling and plug into the sensor should be checked as depending on your use, it is exposed in off road usage. So I would remove the plastic under arch panel rather than use the 'wood block' method juts to be able to work and inspect the cabling easier.

2. crankshaft sensor malfunction can prevent the vehicle from starting and generates DTC 335 and 336;

Several on this forum have reported issues with non LR parts , with the LR part some 4 times the price. Your choice .

Try the "Mister Auto" app or web site. It is part of the PSA group which makes your engine. Type in 'crankshaft sensor' and it will list all the ones they recommend. As for as I know they cover all of Europe and they are very comparative on price. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

Thanks for the link, very informative.
I have read that many have written about the crankshaft sensor problem. However, there were some things that were not clear to me. Now it's better.
But I still want to ask one thing. Does the pulse generating wheel, the one installed on the motor shaft, also need to be replaced or is it not necessary?

I am left with the doubt whether the phonic wheel must also be replaced or not? What do you think about it?
The error that gives me the diagnosis is P0335 (00) and P0336 (00), in addition to P0100 and P0103 (22).
Obviously the machine has difficulty starting.

The trigger wheel only needs replacing if it's damaged.
Otherwise just replace the sensor with an OE or genuine part. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

My doubt arose from the fact that the Land Rover dealer told me that the tone wheel must necessarily be replaced when the crankshaft speed sensor is replaced.

Usual dealer bs! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

There are two versions of the sensor and magnetic wheels. Earlier and later versions. Later since the Evoque era, I believe.
If the dealer can source only the later type of sensor, then the magnetic wheel must be changed too.
Otherwise, as the other people said, try to source only the sensor.

For the moment I have ordered only the sensor. The sensor vendor looked on his stock software and told me the purchased sensor is fine for my FL. In any case, in these days I install it and see. Please note that my FL is from 2008.

Changed my Crankshaft Sensor in 2019 with a part from ebay (Ford/Volvo part) CS1326 - Car runs fine.
Reason for change - occasional misfiring - 2008 SX.
