buttons need to be up for the battery to charge - also don't know for sure but something tells me that the code to start the car is different from the code or sync required to open the car? Stewart

I've always understood that the fob needs to be inserted in the dash with the buttons up to charge correctly, that came from a LR tech.

I seem to remember it won't latch button side down, the door lock is a different type of code, the immobiliser code operates from a pick up by the steering wheel, the lo5ck sensor I believe is in the roof. There are a couple of coding experts on here who may have your answer and know how and if it can be done. alex_pescaru will almost certainly know my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

So, my two cents.............it could be the battery is not fully charged or not providing the buttons at issue the proper voltage.

Well I have had my MY10 FL2 since December 2015. Did what it said above, Placed key in BUTTON side up and engine started. Then placed key in BUTTON side down and started the engine. Something I must have been doing for the past 5+yrs, and I have never had a problem with the batteries not recharging in the fob, never had to change them. |
