Hi Dan, was the new injector coded to the ECU? (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

No not yet but my mechanic said it should run fine without coding is just the very fine tuning of it.

No, it's not wrong. The mechanic is right. |

None of my injectors matched the codes stored in the ECM, and it started just fine, with the same amount of smoke (blue in my case). Correctly coding the ECM made almost no difference to engine running, as it's literally just a fine tuning, nothing more. If you have no fuel at one injector, then engine will misfire. See if you can see small air bubbles in the clear fuel supply pipe, under the braided section, while the engine is idling. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone. Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver. 1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project. |

Had something very similar with wiring plug to fuel rail not connected properly. Would be only when starting. Ton on white smoke, didn't want to rev. Would improve and smoke would clear after few mins, then drive normal. Went like this for a few days before she wouldn't start at all. Cleaned out the plug connectors and all good ever since.
