England 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Auto Barolo Black
Time to say goodbye

After nearly eight years and three Fl2's we've decided to part with both the 07 plate Td4 Gs and the 2012 Sd4 Sport Le and got a 2015 Discosport with the 2.2 Sd4 engine in Hse spec finished in santorini black , first impressions are very positive and hope it serves us as good as the Fl2's we've had . The 07 Gs is going to a new member on here when the private plate transfer is completed which should be next week . I'll alway keep looking in on the forum as it's been one of the most helpful and friendly I've come across. The wife will be using the Ds as I've been left a Ford Bmax ecoboost which I absolutely love .

Best wishes Mark, hope the DS is a worthy replacement, you'll doubtless be out detailing it soon? 👍 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Thanks both , it's more for the missus than me , very happy with how it drives , not a massive difference to the Fl2 tbh . It's going to get treated to a good polish with my new cordless Da Bob .

The Dewalt one as I've got a few batteries , I've had a try with it and it was very impressive given it's cordless. I've got some new pads to try , Rupes yellow , green and white also some microfibre pads which I've not tried before .

Treating it with a Dewalt-16? (from 1:10)

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

As an owner who has only washed the FL2 a handful of times and the DS's once that's just how I feel about cleaning my own car. Take it to the carwash every week, get it valeted every fortnight, so it looks passable, but clean it Laughing If you clean your own car you see every blemish and get disheartened, costs a fortune as you (I) end up getting rid in disgust every year or less.
Whereas I took the FL2 through a gorse bush the week after a complete respray, apparently made a mess of the wife's side but it never bothered me - never saw it, and the guys who do the valeting polished most of it out as they couldn't cope with people thinking that they had anything to do with the mess.

Welcome to the Dark Side, it's not a FL2, but still a nice place to be. The DS forum is not as friendly or as knowledgeable as here, then again if you have paid £50k for a car you are not going to be happy with less than perfection and you have to understand owners attitudes to the sometimes less than helpful dealers / manufacturers response. The knowledge base is getting better as more cars come out of warranty, so more owners (enthusiasts?) are prepared to get the spanners out.
But don't forget us on Freel2 - the banter is brilliant, and your engine is far more common on the forum. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I'll keep checking in from time to time Andy , as you say the Ds forum isn't like this one . I was nearly swayed to a Skoda Kodiaq or a Ford Kuga but there was something lacking after eight years Landrover ownership .
