Is Haynes Manual for FL 2014 forward any good?

Hi, I am a new user and was wondering if any of you know whether the Haynes Manual for the FL2 Diesel MY 14 is any good? Unfortunately, good service is rare in my home country, and wouldn't like to pay for the TOPIX every time I have to take it to service and supervise it,

Best,

Best,

The modern Haynes manuals are not as good as the Haynes of old - poor photos in place of high quality line drawings.
But they are better than nothing.

I use the the free JLR manual which goes to 2012 for my 2014 model - not much mechanical is different. The electrics changed the most, as quite a bit of Evoque stuff was used towards the end. Jules

I agree , far too generic. We Freelander 2. It doesn't seem to take account of facelift changes for MY2013 despite being published in 2014

Very disappointing. Sad FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

Haynes gets a thumbs down from me. I recently did some work under the bonnet and the Haynes manual left out some very important information. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

I've had a Haynes manual for every car I've ever owned and found them to be pretty good. They have saved me many many thousands of pounds in garage labour costs being able to do my own servicing. They get a 👍from me. (Wonder will they continue to produce them for electric cars in future?) Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

There is still a lot of stuff on an EV that is common to ICE vehicle and will develop faults or will wear out in time; bearings, suspension, brakes, cooling, heating, electrics, sensors, lighting, security systems, locks, electric window / sunroofs, wipers, seats etc (just thinking about he stuff Ive repaired over the years Smile )

I have no idea how much of the EV's unique electric motor/transmission and battery/hydrogen systems will be DIY-able though.

Very disappointed in the latest manual, lot of useless filler and not enough detail for the newer models.
