New FL2 now home

I collected my new Freelander 2 yesterday, and I am truely over the moon with it. I drove it home about 160 miles and ive done about another 40 miles since and it didn't miss a beat. Its really smooth quiet and refined its economical too having only used a 1/4 of a tank. everytime I learn something new about the car from reading the owners manual I get a little more impressed with it, cant wait now until the caravan parks re open so I can try it out with the caravan

Congratulations on your purchase Thumbs Up

It's a Very capable tow car. I tow 1500kgs and under normal driving conditions it's hardly noticeable. Be carful with the speed though, It quite easy to exceed the 60 limit on a dual carriageway without realising it.

Happy to help. to be honest I don't think its as good as the Truma system in our old Coachman. It does the job but can be a little noisy with the fan on full speed. having said that we have a fixed french bed so your sleeping directly above the under floor heater unit. Our separate bathroom gets really cosy the rest of the van is OK. We did stay in it at the end February a couple of years back. it was pretty cold outside and the car had snow on the bonnet the morning we set off, but we it was OK in the van with the heating on. I don't do it that often but I personally think its a little better when running on gas but that can get expensive so if your on mains hook up it makes sense to use that . Re your Wife's breathing issues, I can't see it being an issue.

Apologies to others for talking caravans in the general FL2 section Thumbs Up 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

We have the Truma system in our current van and shes fine with that but ive never tried it on the blown air setting always had the room heater on. That's why I was thinking of the Affinity as it has the Alde wet system anyway thanks for your help its given me something to think about now
