2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey
Another steering column locked problem

Hi,
I have 2008 diesel auto. I have the steering column locked problem also. I read a lot here and as I understand there is a way to close or shut down from SDD. I’m not so familiar to electronics or software things. Is there a simple way to make my car work?
Thanks

If you’re not prepared to pay to get it fixed properly, then ‘steering lock emulators’ such as this are readily available.

Then you would have to replace it and have it coded by JLR SDD or you can go into JLR SDD in engineering mode and modify your CCF to remove the option. Clear all codes and fingers crossed. (I have not actually done this but it's doable).

Steep learning curve and will need some investment for anythings you may not already have.
