United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Alaska White
Car Wrapping

Bit of a weird post; As an Ex Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor, I've always been fascinated by maps and plans, in particular anything produced by Ordnance Survey. I have a white Freelander and on a whim wondered what it would be like and cost for a professional paint wrap of an Ordnance Survey map over the whole car. To put this in context, I actually like the patterns on disguise cars with that black & white camouflage zebra patterns and think that if motor companies actually offered those as an option, they would sell well. I was out and about today on a Covid distanced exercise walk, and a big box van drove past me completely covered in an A-2-Z style map of the whole city of Leicester, with the words; "We put the cheese in Leicester". And the logo "BJS". Unfortunately I didn't get registration or phone numbers. I'm in Surrey, so god knows what he was doing down here but if any one knows of the van or company I would be much obliged of info such that I can ask what the impressive wrap cost and if there were any issues of copyright. Look forward to any clues.

LR did actually produce body graphics for the Freelander 1 .......

....... but not for the FL2. More than likely due to opening market of vinyl sticker printing.

Your best bet is to visit a wrapping expert.

There are plenty of Vinyl graphic companies out there that
will do this service.......but be warned
ask a number traders who have had their motors done and how long
it's lasted, as I've recently been told by my local designer a number of companies are importing from china
and using inferior quality vinyl
My local guy used to do full body wraps a number of year back and could not compete
with others using cheaper plastics.

You could do worse than asking your LR dealership who does theirs. If they are prepared to wrap a brand new FFRR and warranty it for 3 years the quality should be Ok. Bradford LR wrapped my roof black before I picked mine up, can’t tell it’s a wrap and it’s looking as good 15 months later as the day I picked her up Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I looked in the search of previous posts and found the guy called rogerK9 who wrapped his whole car. Not maps, I know, but with the colour it shows the quality.
