I did fit a blanking plate, but the egr is now throwing codes. Garage has cleared codes and sprayed some cleaner through and all ok at the moment, but the valve is obviously getting blocked. Just replaced throttle valve as that was all gummed up. |

What codes? The only code a blanking plate will give is related to the EGR intake temperature lower than expected. This can be ignored, as it's just for information, and is of no consequence. Any other codes will need investigating, but won't be related to the EGR blanking plate. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone. I fitted the plate a little while ago and all was well. The engine light came on and the car was running a bit lumpy and went into reduced power mode. The next time I started it, it was running fine and then back to lumpy again. Garage said it was showing 3 codes all pointing to a sticking egr. As we know, blanking an egr doesn't mean you won't have egr problems. I like the idea of an egr delete and blank, but to answer my own question from above, after reading other threads on the site, I'm thinking 220bhp and 500nm is too much for the gearbox etc. |

The 220bhp/500nm figures are what can be achieved from mapping an SD4, the TD4 normally maps to 194bhp/452nm |
