It has to stick out that far to clear the bumper! That's why I went for a detachable Andy Freelander2 HSE (59 Plate, MY10 spec) |

Good to know - thank you. I think I will take it off and clean it up at the weekend. Maybe paint it too. If it’s genuine I would rather keep it than replace it. |

Our car came with a removable tow bar already fitted, it lives with the spare wheel until needed, Ideal |

Thanks guys! I have a D4 with a removable tow bar that is rarely used so that lives in its storage place. I am happy with the idea of the fixed bar on the Freelander so will just tidy it up so I am happy with the appearance. |
