Which tow bar is this?

Hi all. Can anyone let me know if this is a genuine or some other after market tow bar please?

It is a bit tatty so could do with a tidy up but I am also tempted to replace it with one that does not stick out so far.

I have the exact same towbar. It is a genuine LR supplied (from new) item.

Mine has not gone as rusty as yours, but climate conditions apply.

Yes it is a chin knocker Whistle

Land Rover Duckworths still offer them on line.

It has to stick out that far to clear the bumper!

That's why I went for a detachable Thumbs Up Andy

Good to know - thank you. I think I will take it off and clean it up at the weekend. Maybe paint it too. If it’s genuine I would rather keep it than replace it.

Hi,
why not take it off, clean and paint it,
then
leave it off untill you need it, its only two bolts and there easy to get to Whistle
We have the same type but a swan neck not a flange fitting.

I think I will do just that - it can stay off until it it is needed.

If they are that easy to remove, are they often stolen?

its not like the D3/RRS removables,

Thanks guys! I have a D4 with a removable tow bar that is rarely used so that lives in its storage place. I am happy with the idea of the fixed bar on the Freelander so will just tidy it up so I am happy with the appearance.
