will not star

Hi i have a 2008 freelander diesel and have just driven to work no problems got into car to come home and it wont start. engine spins fast and it tries to fire but wont go. any one any ideas

The crankshaft sensor can fail and then it wont start. Its not to difficult to replace as a DIY job if that is the problem. It should put an an error code. Jules

diagnostics gave fault codes as long as my arm so off to the garage for someone to have a look at it, i will post the result f they manage to fix it

All fixed now throttle actuator was stuck closed so no air getting into the engine. and also the air flow sensor was replaced as showing a fault
