United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Whistler White
Engine mount apparently causing damage to intercooler pipe

Hi all!

So I replaced my intercooler pipe that had split with a silicone one from Britpart.

Fast forward a few months later and this also has become damaged, any high revs and I get a MAF error and I can see damage on the pipe:

This has lead me to believe that as I can see through the black portion of my top engine mount that it needs replacing, I'm currently waiting on this from eBay.

But I've also realised this could also be the lower mounts that are in the same state. Would this make sense to be the cause of why the crankshaft would be rubbing against the pipe at times?

Thanks

I'm thinking the lower tie bar bush has failed. The lower tie bar is at the back of the engine, below the turbo. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I had the same problem, it was cured by just fitting a new lower engine mount
