So my 1800-2000rev judder and lack of power (the one that's not temperature related, like a similar sounding issue some people have) MIGHT have been fixed. Up hill under load, and would judder like crazy. Would drive in sports mode to keep the revs up, but over the last year it's been getting steadily worse. Was at the point where the car felt like it was going to rip itself apart the judder was so bad.

Got both halfshafts changed today, and the drive home was like a new car. Acceleration was smoother, car seemed to change gears a lot more readily, and just felt a lot more alive. Could not get it to judder at all. I'm curious what my MPG is going to look like if she's been fighting that extra load for a while.

The longer halfshaft was completely munted, the teeth were in horrible condition. The garage's 'up on hoist and give them a once over' had labeled them as "they look fine".... that is until they pulled them out.

Been an expensive Judder Hunt, but fingers crossed that's it. Might finally be able to save up for that Xtrons unit.

Hope it's been resolved.

There is a splined coupling between the gearbox and the PTU, on ours the splines finally failed at around 150,000 miles, taking out the PTU on the way. When I stripped her down the splines for the longer (RH) drive shaft were very badly worn and wouldn't have lasted too much longer. My point is the drive shaft splines failing at the gearbox end might be rare but not unheard of.

Might pop back tomorrow to try and get photos if they've not thrown them out yet. The splines were pretty mashed! Hoping the PTU got away with it...
