As I'm shielding I'm not using my Freelander. I should explain I live in a tower block and have no access to a power plug to charge the battery so to help the situation I recently bought a Solar Panel, to charge the Battery. It comes with two crocodile clips and a cigarette plug. To set it up can I just plug it into the cigar lighter or need i connect it directly to the battery.

What power solar panel? If it's more than 10 Watts, it'll need a charge controller, or it'll boil the battery. If it's one of those 1.5 Watt panels, then it'll hardly charge the battery at all.
