2007 td4 internal blower not turning off

Hello everyone.
Im sure there is a forum about this already but im struggling to find an answer.
My 2007 blower decided to just go full blow on me and then even after ignition off and key out, was on a lower blow.
I have taken out the 40a fuse 28 which of course cuts it off, but as its winter i would like to try and fix it.
I have looked and think its down to the Final stage relay, which i have ordered ( genuine part)
I cant for the life of me find where it is or how to change it. From what i have found, its on the drivers side under the side panel on the central console.
I have the panel off and can see nothing. do i need to remove anything else?

Having received my new part I went about the process of finding the old one.
It's tucked up on the left footwell right up and at the back of the central heating matrix.
You have to take the glove box off. Two rubberised monlunts you can pull in to drop it down. Then a damper that pulls out of a hole at the top left of glove box. It has a quirky catch that pops over the hole. I broke mine as didn't know. Once popped out the glove box can be taken off as only clipped in at the bottom. Take the footwell light our as it tends to get in the way. Tuck it up and use the light. On my back looking up and to the centre I saw it, well the leads and the turn handle part. I tried to rotate it anticlockwise to undo it bit couldn't so put some pliers on the end towards me and gave it a twist. Bingo.
Then bought it out and unclipped it. Clipped the new one in and with some difficulty managed to slot it in the hole. Note the position of the one you took out as the new one will be at a slight angle as you then have to get those pliers back on and turn clockwise. It was in. Bits back on fuse 28 back in and I have a working blower again.
I will try and get some shots of its location. But if you look at the one I've taken its at the back of these.

Check the negative wire. If you take out the glove box, I haven't got a photo, but to the right hand side of where the glove box would be you will see a wire earthed to some aluminium structure.

I unscrewed this wire to add another earth for my TPMS. When I disconnected the wire the fan came on. I was surprised at the time. As soon as I reconnected the wire the fan stopped.

Either the screw has come loose or this wire has broken somewhere. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
