levels of trim

Hello to all. More advice needed.
Is there somewhere i can compare levels of trim on FL2's.
Reason-- Had a look at 60 plate auto FL2 with GS on back door.
Trying to find out just what "GS" has and the other levels.
Hope you understand what i am asking about.
Thank you

Jim A.

I wouldn't bother too much about the JLR Sat Nav - its clunky, has old maps and you're better off using Waze or Google maps on your phone. Jules

From what I can work out you can have anything on a GS except lux leather, memory seats and opening sun roof, even that may not be true as dealers seem to be able to specify anything but customers only on the extra list my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

" ...... as dealers seem to be able to specify anything but customers only on the extra list .........."

That is because dealers will commit to small batch volume "specified vehicles" and sell them across their nation-wide network.

Thanks @IanMetro!
For those who complain about there outdated maps... errr... update them??
I have the HSE, leather, premium sound, electric seats, nav, sat radio, heated steering wheel,
And the coolest feature, the heated windshield.

Lol, in the MY13 brochure it lists “valves per cylinder” at 16.
And another interesting detail... all the engines list an identical displacement. Diesel is the same as petrol.
Does that mean it’s the identical block being used? Guy Pensa

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

There's loads of little differences between the GS and SE, which is why I went for the SE myself. The differences between the SE and HSE is just as large, but more subtle to the casual observer.
I figured the SE has 80% of the HSE kit, but about 60% of the price. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Hi Jim,
when we were looking for a FL2 I gave up trying to go for a specific model trim as many of the first owners added their own options, so a "lower" spec car could have everything you want Confused

I decided what I wanted and then looked at any FL2 that looked about right to confirm what they actually had ?

on my list was manual or auto either was fine Exclamation alcantara seats or leather but if leather had to be heated, heated front screen, no sunroof, PDC front and rear, towbar, roof rails, 2 keys.

we ended up with a GS, heated leather seats, centre arm rest, heated front screen, PDC f&r, towbar, 2 keys but No roof rails, well you dont always get everything, a bit of compromise somewhere and you can add later if you really want it,
GS so no satnav but not on my list anyway Whistle
newer than I thought as well its just what came along at the right time/price

enjoy the search.

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

The one thing that doesn't seem to have been available as an option on MY13 on was HID Xenon headlights.
They were only available on HSE Lux and then Metropolis spec.
Unfortunately on MY13 vehicles with single bulb halogen units, the headlight performance is poor so it is a feature to consider if you value decent lights. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

There was also a Lux pack on the Dynamic trim that also gave you xenon lights, though I've only ever seen one Dynamic Lux FL2.

And though the halogen facelift lights aren't great, they can be improved if you're willing to install not-strictly-legal but LEDs or a HID kit. Numerous threads on here about the options available.

Absolutely agree about looking at specific vehicles rather than relying on trim levels, as they do vary wildly. I looked for a low mileage sd4 in the first instance, and spec was only secondary. Ended up with an XS, but it is very well specced, with all of the following:

7" touchscreen with HDD sat nav system and 10-disc CD changer memory
380W 11-speaker Meridian audio system
Heated front windscreen and washer jets
Heated front seats
Cruise control
Auto halogen headlamps and rain-sensitive  wipers
LED daytime running lights
17" five split-spoke alloy wheels
Clearview pack (front fog lamps and headlamp powerwash)
Grained leather seats
Climate control with air filtration
Terrain response
Loadspace cover

Plus cost extras:
Armrest pack (front seat armrests and rear centre armrest with storage)
6-way electric front seats
Front and rear parking sensors plus rear cam

A previous answer of mine to this regular subject of choice and spec levels.

I would not worry.
Look at the specifications and extras in the brouchure and choose the one you want.

Two things to bear in mind'
1)Extra (smaller) wheels are relatively cheap, comparied with price of FL2.
2)As you are buying second-hand, you will find that quite a few FL2s have extras on them which previous owners have already specified. (Always ask for, and study, pictures of FL2s for sale as extras are not always spotted by dealers) -- You may find a HSE nearly kitted out to Metro spec.

As far as my own experience, both my FL2s have had 19" wheels, and I have had absolutely no worries about the excellent comfort.
And I recomend buying a LR approved vehicle as the dealer will normally provide recorded history, and make sure it is serviced, MOT'd and nicely prepared. You also get a half day LR experience to play in the woods with a LR of your choice.

Although it's true the LR satnav is a bit rubbish, in my opinion the large touch screen is worth having over the small "radio only" screen on lower models as you get other functions like a graphic of the parking sensor distances, better phone functions and easier control of the radio/audio.
