Rear Tailgate Lock

During the freezing wheather earlier this year I was unable to open the rear tailgate as it felt like it was frozen, when the weather warmed up it was ok. Now I cannot open the Tailgate unless I use the Fob, I have stripped it out to day and had a peep at it and what I found was that the handle/lock itself (the rubber bit you touch to open) had a lot of water in it. All it contains (apart from the water) was a strip of metal about 4cm long and 1cm wide with to a sprung piece af metal attached so that when you press it it then makes contact with a little microswitch to open the Tailgate, what I suspect is that this switch has become corroded inside and this apart from the water ingress is the problem.

My question is has anyone purchased one of these and how much was it as it would be easier to change it myself rather than book it in so the Stealer for the day while he looks at it then while he orders the part then book it in again for the day while he takes 30 minutes to fit it, I know it is covered by warranty but if it is only a few quid it would be easier to do it myself. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
