water pump problem

Dears

This morning when I start the car, there is noise coming from the engine bay, could it be a water pump problem?

It could be many things, you'll need to give us a bit more information, what does it sound like, where is it coming from, does it increase with engine speed etc? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

That water pump is generally very reliable.

Have you changed the steering fluid reservoir and fluid? if not that could be causing the noise. 2013 FL2 XS.

yep - first change the PAS fluid (CH202 IIRC) and the reservoir (which cantains a non-replaceable filter) Jules

The none replaceable filter gets blocked putting the PAS pump under stress. Change the PAS reservoir and give it some new fluid of the correct grade.

It would be a good to change the thread title! Save confusion when people start reading the thread and suddenly find discussion on PAS systems.
