Hello.
Can anyone confirm or deny
that the later 2012 steering wheel air bag pod/unit will
fit an earlier 2008 steering wheel ?
I'm intending to change over to one that
doesn't have the front corners curling up.

I eventually fitted a later steering wheel and fitted my old 2007 airbag to it, so I guess the later airbag should fit the old wheel too. In fact, I really can't see any difference in the earlier and later airbags, other that possibly a different part number.

Dave, did you manage to fit newer airbag to old FL2? Does it fit?

Hi, No I didn't I've got a bit complacent with the aesthetics of the car
and have had to spend cash on more important bits like steering and supension .
If, you are going for a change then please post as I may well get inspired again.  DAVE.

I've just ordered one from 2010 model. Will see how it fits but it looks to be exactly the same except for the actual driver facing airbag cover that was the issue. Will report my results

Ok, so 2010 airbag fits perfectly without any issues and looks great. Connectors and everything is exactly the same, only the front pattern around the Land Rover logo is changed (instead of 4 "creases" there are only 3 forming Y letter around the badge.) and it's supposed to be less prone to curling from what I read. When we get better weather out here I'll make some photos.

Looks like I might be keeping ours a bit longer, so a tidy up is on the list,
including this airbag cover.....funny how little things like this can be so annoying.  DAVE.

Do you have to take any precautions to avoid the air bag going off ? Jules

Car battery disconnected and wait for 20-30 minutes to be on the safe side. Then attempt to replace any airbags. Here's promised photo of how it fits - looks like it was made for it
