HDC system fault - unavailable and key stacked in ignition.

Dear colleagues, good to get to this forum.
I am writing from South Sudan - Africa where LR2 service are very limited.
yesterday, my LR2 2007 model stayed almost the whole day without me starting the engine at least for more than 10 minutes.
while in the evening when i wanted to park it to where i always park, to my surprise it couldn't start.
I got some info on the info displayed as "HDC system fault - unavailable"
secondly after training to re-start again and again including disconnecting the battery and reconnecting nothing really worked out. Finally the key got stuck in the ignition. So sad.
currently i eft it at home as i came to work. i have to info displaced;
1. HDC system Fault -unavailable
2. Transmission reduced
Could there be anyone who might experienced similar issues?? and how was it managed??
NB: this is happening for the first time since i bought the car in Feb 2020.

Welcome! A flat or faulty battery would give you the error messages as you have described. I would charge up the battery as the first thing and then go from there. If the voltage has dropped then there might not be enough in the battery to power the steering lock and release the key. I think you will find once the battery is charged those error messages will disappear. depending on how old the battery is you may have to look at getting it renewed. Good luck!
