Hi All

I have a 2013 FL2 SD4 with ±140000km (vehicle in South Africa)

It has given me two years of very happy kms since purchase it but have started to run into problems over the last few months. A recent relocation has seen it driving more often on some very poor roads which seem to have taken their toll and since March I have been gradually replacing front end suspension parts after they showed signs of wear:

- New anti-roll bar links and front control arms seemed to sort things out for a while.

- Most recently have replaced front side shafts (i.e. whole inner/outer cv unit) after play developed in both sides and vehicle was shaking/juddering under acceleration.

I am now left with two other problems which were both evident before CVs were replaced - I was hoping this would be sorted with the CV replacement!

1: Anywhere between 80 and 120kmh - if I accelerate nose of the car lifts to the left and steering wheel pulls to the right. Foot off the gas - nose shifts back to the right and wheel re-centres. Is this torque steer?? Almost like the vehicle is twisting itself.

Together with this, the vehicle seems very unstable on left hand corners taken at a higher speed. It pitches/lurches around - not a pleasant experience!

I have been inspected to check for play in suspension and by local LR Indy garage who replaced control arms and CVs also inspected thoroughly.

Could it be a diff issue? Any other ideas?

Not a Freelander but have come across similar issues on a couple of different cars before. Different faults but both gave the same symptoms. 1st case was a seized diff on a FWD Escort that gave severe torque steer when accelerating and made the car hard to steer in a corner as it wanted to go straight on. 2nd car (forget the make ) was RWD and had a burst rubber engine mounting which let the engine jump out of position when accelerating and the resultant weight shift had the car jumping all over the place and hard to steer. Worth checking these 2 possibilities out! Good luck!

Early on, I had stability issues on fast corners, which was a tad unsettling! It was sorted by a change of tyres. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
