Not a Freelander but have come across similar issues on a couple of different cars before. Different faults but both gave the same symptoms. 1st case was a seized diff on a FWD Escort that gave severe torque steer when accelerating and made the car hard to steer in a corner as it wanted to go straight on. 2nd car (forget the make ) was RWD and had a burst rubber engine mounting which let the engine jump out of position when accelerating and the resultant weight shift had the car jumping all over the place and hard to steer. Worth checking these 2 possibilities out! Good luck! |

Early on, I had stability issues on fast corners, which was a tad unsettling! It was sorted by a change of tyres. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
