hello
went to use my 06 freelander last night i could not unlock car using both keyfobs but the hazard lights came on like normal then stayed on but very dimly. i tried start it with no luck only hazard lights on dash working with a loud fast clicking noise looked under bonnet, the clicking seemed to be coming from a relay in fuse box above the battery so i pulled it out but still kept clicking disconnected the battery left it for a while put it back on clicking still there i've had no signs the battery was dying but put my jump pack on no luck battery has been off all night any advice or help would be great before i start pulling bits of i have no idea what they are i have searched forum i found simler but not the same

And have you measured the battery voltage? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

I would charge the battery.

You will not charge a battery with a starter pack. It's designed for a short sharp wack to support the starter battery.

Charge the battery with a proper charger overnight.

Measure the battery 24 hours after it has been charged & the car not used to see what the voltage is.

The battery should be 800 CCA & 80AH, more is better.

Check there is no corrosion on the battery terminals.

Starter batteries are on borrowed time after 4 years. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

i put battery on charge over night car started in morning took car and had battery checked at garage, battery is fine mechanic suggested that it could have been flat due to imobliser/alarm battery had drained and drew all charge from main battery to recharge alarm battery. that could explain why battery died so quickly. (i don't know if that's possible or not).
but the car has been fine since.

Don’t forget to always double lock it shuts down better as I remember.
