Glove box

Hi All.
I have a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've come to open the glove box, and the handle is not connected to the release. How do I now open the glove box without smashing it open with a hammer. Hehehe🔨😜

I had a look to see if one could push something down through a small gap when closed. Even if you can there is no point. You can't manually open it with a tool of any description.

Next path, have you removed the fake timber or metal trim. There may be some holes behind the trim (that's one part of my car I haven't yet pulled apart). Behind the trim is the only way you will open the glovebox even if you have to make a hole. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Try push hard to glovebox in place of lock. Lock won´t unloc unless it is fully locked. If something pushing aginst it it can stuck. Then you have disconnected feel on latch.

I looked under the handle. If the lug at the end of the handle has broken off, make a small hook, a length of wire & bend a 90° hook at the end, only needs to be a few mm long & pull the black ring/loop part down. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
