Cannot reset "Completed the Service" warning Messa

Hi,
I was checking the car I want to buy with the salesguy. They've changed the oil and filter and tried to reset the "Yearly Service" message.
They say they've tried three machines and have tried the methods on Forums.
The dates have been reset for the following year and it says "364 days till next service" in the right 'window' but the message does't disappear from the centre one.

Has this happened to anyone, is it common or are they missing something? Is this a car fault I should be worried about?
