I have been getting this issue recently. Sometimes when accelerating and sometimes when at a contstant speed. May try the sensor fix as described above.

@Northcroft, did you ever bother to change the crank position sensor? That at least would have given a base point to start from. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Any of the ‘known’ make ones will be fine imho. I replaced mine years ago with a Peugeot/Citroen one & it hasn’t missed a beat since. I have had the issue a few more times now. Managed to get a code reader hooked up earlier with one code found:

P0336 - Powertrain - Cranshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

Ordering the new sensor today and will update once it arrives.

So i got the new sensor and was on the way to the shop to buy some tools when the car stopped completely with reduced engine performance message. Same error code on reader. Would not start after this.

Managed to get the needed tools and set to work replacing the sensor. Cleared the code and tried to start. Worked first time. Codes all clear now.

I have not had time to put many miles in, but i will update if i get the judder any more.
