Recently had a pair of Bilsteins on mine and no issues at all .

I may be wrong but I thought it was recommended they are replaced in pairs. Jules |

They will fit fine , mine have been on a few months now and no problems whatsoever. On my previous Fl2 I fitted a pair of genuine Landrover rear shocks which were made in Poland , the Bilsteins seems better quality than the LR ones and the KYB shocks on my wife's Fl2 seem better made too . I would look at replacing them in a pair also .

I'll let you know how the Bilsteins go , the KYB's have been on the wife's FL2 now for 3 1/2 years and have been fantastic , I managed to get a full set at a price too good to miss . The biggest transformation was a pair of new Sachs front springs on the wife's which has transformed the ride and handling, definitely something to consider if you replace the shocks . Hi Steve Is the old one a Bilstein as well? If they are different manufacture the internal valving will be different. They will also have different fluids and fluid volumes. There is a different capacity inside each damper - a few mm difference in diameter can mean a relatively large difference in volume. Different pistons, stroke, surface treatment - when you start looking at it it's a wonder they're not just sold in pairs. My l/h rear shocker failed and was replaced on warranty. I suggested they replace both with me paying for the second one. Duckworth’s said no need, the original r/h shocker was still perfectly good! Time will tell!

Drove over a large tree branch across the road a few days back (at night and during another wind and rain storm), long story I chronicled in the diff whine thread today. Rears are now weeping but no actual symptoms yet. Will be ordering the Bilsteins this week or next. Here are the part numbers for any one looking:
