Reverse dip mirror not working properly

Hey there,

Every time I put the car in reverse and return to drive, the driver's mirror moves to a different position.

I reprogrammed the position lots of times and even changed the "engine" that moves the mirror to a new one (genuine), and it didn't fix the issue.

That issue only happens on the driver's side; the passenger side is just fine.

Suggestions?

Not the one I used, just picked a random picture from the part on the internet.

I do not discard the possibility of buying a wrong one but there is just one available in the market here.

The dealer recommended me to change the entire mirror assy to a new one to fix it, but why it would since I changed the engine and it didn't?

One interesting thing is that I can hear the mirror engine running for more than it should, when it is all way down the engine keeps trying to go further and gives up after a few seconds.

The same thing when I return to drive, it sometimes goes all way up and keeps trying for a more few seconds until it gives up.

Fun fact is that sometimes it works as expected, but most of the time, it doesn't.

LR2 MY14 HSE SD4.

I remembered I had posted it a while back just after posting this one again, I'm getting old.

But no recommendations there yet, I tried the reset through battery cables and through the scanner and I only use one key.

I saw at least one more fellow complaining in the forum but also without solution Big Cry

BREAKING NEWS! Rolling with laughter

A friend recommended to "reset" the car again by leaving the battery out for at least 24 hours and then reprogram the mirror positions.

It fixed the issue for whatever reason, at the first car start it still behaved wrongly but then I programmed it again and so far one week without issues (it was pretty common to happen at least once a day) Bow down
